Mediation 1.2 Challenges

This is the third course of four that will make up the training required to meet the mediation course requirements toward earning our Mediation Training Certificate. It is a 22 hour course comprised of 18 hours in class plus 3 hours of asynchronous work on your own. This course will focus on managing the emotional dynamic and other challenges in mediation such as, power, trauma and intercultural communication. It will also provide more role play practise mediating, with the assistance of a coach, focusing on drawing out deeper interests while managing the emotional climate. Course approved by ADR Institute of Canada as recognized training towards the national designations of Qualified Mediator and Chartered Mediator. Cost: Included in the total cost of our Mediation Training Certificate Program Credit card fees are paid by the purchaser – effective January 1, 2025 Cost includes: Instructors, guest lecturers, coaches for skill practice and role plays, course materials, administrative support, and access to our on-line eLearn platform which includes discussion forums for learners to share resources, ask questions, and connect with each other and with the instructional and coaching team. Successful completion of Mediation Foundation 1.1 and Negotiation for Mediators (or equivalent) Course dates and times are based on Mountain Daylight/Standard Time and could be adjusted to best meet the time zones of the final list of participants. The idea of preventing someone from registering for a course makes us all crazy, so we won’t do that. However, we need to order printing a week before the course and make final decisions about the number of coaches to bring in, and confirm the size of the classroom being rented. Therefore, we hope you will register as soon as possible (knowing we’ll be kind and easy to deal with if you have to cancel) and in exchange, we will keep registration open until the day before the course. We will shut off online course registration a week before, however you can just give us a call at 780-460-7599 or send an email to admin@adrlearninginstitute.ca to register. We will confirm your registration and make sure we have all the materials you will need when you arrive on the course date.
