ADR Learning Institute is committed to creating a supportive learning environment while recognizing that unexpected circumstances sometimes arise. We understand that students may occasionally need to postpone or withdraw from a course due to changes in health, family responsibilities, employment, or other significant life events.

Our programs require substantial preparation and resources before a course begins. Instructors, coaches, role players and administrators, online learning platforms, and course materials are scheduled and prepared in advance based on enrolment. Once a course has commenced, these resources have already been committed to each participant.

For this reason, the following policy applies.

Withdrawals Before the Course Begins

  • More than 30 days before the course begins: Full refund less a $50 administrative fee.
  • 15 – 30 days before the course begins: 75% refund.
  • 8 – 14 days before the course begins: 50% refund.
  • Less than 7 days before the course begins: No refund.

Withdrawals After the Course Begins

Once a course has begun, tuition is typically non-refundable.

This includes situations where a participant:

  • withdraws because they are feeling overwhelmed;
  • decides the program is not the right fit;
  • does not complete assignments or evaluations;
  • chooses not to continue after attending part of the course.

Because instructors, coaches, administrators, and online learning resources are committed to each participant from the outset of the course, ADR Learning Institute is unable to recover most of these costs once the course has commenced.

Withdrawals Suggested by the Education Team

If the education team develops concerns about your ability to complete the program, we will meet with you to discuss those concerns. If you agree with their assessment and the decision is to discontinue the program or postpone the journey through the program, we will provide a full refund on the courses the student has not started.

Exceptional Circumstances

We recognize that serious and unforeseen circumstances may prevent a student from completing a course.

In exceptional situations and through discussion with the Director, we may be able to offer one of the following:

  • a transfer to a future delivery of the course;
  • a tuition credit toward a future course;
  • another accommodation deemed appropriate.

Cases will be considered individually and supporting documentation may be requested.

Our priority is to support students in continuing their learning whenever possible. When circumstances make that impossible, we will work with students to find a fair solution that respects both their individual situation and the resources already committed to their education.
