Preparing for Peace

This course focuses on developing insight on how the impacts of colonization and historic trauma influences individual beliefs around conflict and how to respond to it.  We will explore the Indigenous worldview and protocols, and the contrast between Justice Worldview and Indigenous Worldview to develop a deeper understanding.  We will explore what conflict is, how it emerges and transforms, and how to analyze it for selecting an appropriate response.  Participants will create and adapt their own personal model of conflict resolution. This course is based on the premise that all parties in a dispute come with varying life experiences, values, beliefs, attitudes, conflict styles and resolution structures.
