This is the first course of four required to meet the mediation course requirements towards earning our Mediation Training Certificate. This is a 30 hour course with 26 of the hours spent in class online or face-to-face, plus an additional 4 hours of asynchronous work.
Once you have completed Comfort in Conflict, Communicating Through Conflict, and Communicating Through Escalated Conflict, and have begun applying the skills to your everyday life, this course will help you pull it all together. We will zero in on the theory and practice to further build your knowledge, skills, and confidence.
This course will help create understanding and awareness of the importance of ethics in a mediation practice. Topics covered will include: Importance of ethics and professional practices Importance of values to guide a mediation practice Application of codes of ethics and conduct to your practice Course approved by ADR Institute of Canada as recognized training towards the national designations of Qualified Mediator and Chartered Mediator. Communicating through Conflict provides a deep dive into the key communication skills effective for preventing and resolving conflicts in your personal and work life. You will have an opportunity to learn and practice skills that are time-tested for clearing the air and creating understanding.
