DESCRIPTION:Course InformationRegistration Cut-Off Cancellation PolicyCourse Information \nToday’s workplaces are more complex than ever.  Everyone is expected to be more with less and the tension that places on working relationship can be high.  Many changes to legislation that impacts policies within workplaces\, also places a burden on employers to respond more quickly and often more formally to complaints.  Formal process responses to complaints can damage relationships that are already strained. \nThis course will introduce participants to traditional methods of restoring relationships.  An Elder will be involved for a portion of the training to explain traditional indigenous ways of sharing and healing and introduce Circle process and safety. Trained mediators\, whose training did not include negotiation\, will benefit from this course\, and are welcome to register without having to register for any of our other courses. \nBeing an effective Mediator requires a deep understanding of Negotiation. This Three-day course focuses on helping mediators understand mediation from the perspective of the parties they are mediating. It will focus on effective ways to prepare for a negotiation\, participate in a negotiation to meet the needs of everyone involved\, and writing up an agreement. SUMMARY:Bear Paw Peacemaking Certificate Program
DESCRIPTION:The current BearPaw Peacemaker Training program is grounded in an interconnected worldview\, where building\, maintaining and strengthening good relationships is paramount. The curriculum includes a discussion of colonial laws in Canada\, and the effect of these laws on family and community relationships within the Indigenous community\, as well as relationships with and between Indigenous and non-Indigenous people in Canada.  The training situates Peacemaking and mediation as a powerful tool in the journey towards healing and reconciliation. NCSA also includes Elder teachings in the training and helps participants to understand how to include Elders in meaningful ways in the Peacemaking process. \n2019 OFFERING OF THIS PROGRAM IS SOLD OUT.  REGISTRATIONS ARE NOW CLOSED.
