The goal of this 2-day workshop is to provide you with a step by step process to design workshop lesson plans and learn about facilitating and creating a PowerPoint presentation. With experience, the same process can be used to develop modules that could build on each other to create longer workshops. This course is designed for adults with training and experience in the field they wish to create workshops for. It is expected that many of the participants in this course will be conflict resolution practitioners but everyone who wants to create workshops is welcome. If you have an idea for a workshop but you are not sure how to create a lesson plan or a PowerPoint presentation, and would like some tips on how to manage classroom dynamics, then this course is for you.
The course is designed to help you:
- Become aware of how adults learn (Learning Intelligence)
- Develop Learning Objectives and Training Content
- Choose Training Methods appropriate for the Training Objectives
- Develop a Training/Lesson Plan specific to a workshop you want to deliver in the future
- Discover ways to handle problem situations
- Learn about creating a PowerPoint presentation (you will need access to a computer and Microsoft PowerPoint software to participate in this segment of the course).
- Practice facilitating a lesson you’ve designed
