Trained mediators\, whose training did not include negotiation\, will benefit from this course\, and are welcome to register without having to register for any of our other courses. \nBeing an effective Mediator requires a deep understanding of Negotiation. This 14 hour course focuses on helping learners in mediation training understand mediation from the perspective of the parties they are mediating. It will focus on effective ways to prepare for a negotiation\, participate in a negotiation to meet the needs of everyone involved\, and writing up an agreement. DESCRIPTION:Course InformationPre-RequisitesScheduleRegistration Cut-Off Cancellation PolicyCourse Information \nThis is the fourth and final course to meet the training requirements toward earning our Mediation Certificate.  This course is 18 hours of class time and it will focus on providing a lot of practise mediating\, with coaching\, and preparing for the mediation role play evaluation. \nCourse approved by ADR Institute of Canada as recognized training towards the national designations of Qualified Mediator and Chartered Mediator. Click here for more information about national designations. \nPre-Requisites \nSuccessful completion of Mediation 1.2 Challenges \nSchedule \n\nThursday\, February 6\, 2025 – 3:00 – 6:00pm MT\nSaturday\, February 8\, 2025 – 9:00am – 3:00pm MT\nThursday\, February 13\, 2025 – 3:00 – 6:00pm MT\nSaturday\, February 15\, 2025 – 9:00am – 3:00pm MT\n\nCourse dates and times are based on Mountain Daylight/Standard Time and could be adjusted to best meet the time zones of the final list of participants. \nRegistration Cut-Off  \nThe idea of preventing someone from registering for a course makes us all crazy\, so we won’t do that.  However\, we need to order printing a week before the course and make final decisions about the number of coaches to bring in\, and confirm the size of the classroom being rented.  Therefore\, we hope you will register as soon as possible (knowing we’ll be kind and easy to deal with if you have to cancel) and in exchange we will keep registration open until the day before the course.  We will shut off online course registration a week before\, however you can just give us a call at 780-460-7599 or send an email to admin@adrlearninginstitute.ca to register.  We will confirm your registration and make sure we have all the materials you will need when you arrive on the course date. \nCancellation Policy \nWe know life happens.  Sometimes schedules change or the universe interferes with your plans.  Please provide us with as much notice as possible so we can provide you with a full refund and hopefully fill your spot.  If the universe doesn’t let you know until five or less days before the course\, then we will give you a full credit towards another course which you\, or someone you choose to transfer it to\, can use within a year.  If your financial situation is such that you just really need the money to be put back into your account\, then give us a call and we will provide a refund less any admin costs incurred through Pay Pal or Invoicing. \n \n\nCost: $877.50 +gst\nApproval to register is required by ADR Learning Institute.  Completion of pre-requisites has to be confirmed prior to registration. It aims to take fear and helplessness out of addressing the conflicts in your life\, at home or at work.  Becoming comfortable with conflict requires an understanding of what it is\, the purpose it serves\, how it expands and contracts\, how people respond\, and learning the skills and steps for resolution.  We will provide a supportive\, inspirational training space for you to learn and practice the foundational skills and models you need to get started.  You will be supported by the ADRLI Course Facilitation Team made up of the instructor and coaches. \nSchedule:\n\nTuesday\, January 21\, 2025 – 9:00 am – 12:00 pm MT\nThursday\, January 23\, 2025 – 9:00 am – 12:00 pm MT\nSaturday\, January 25\, 2025 – 9:00 am – 4:00 pm MT\n\nPre-requisite  \nNo pre-requisite.  This course can be taken as a stand-alone course or in combination with Communicating through Conflict\, Communicating through Escalated Conflict\, and Confidence in Conflict to earn a Certificate in The Art of Conflict Resolution. \nInstructor \nInstructor: Anita Veldhuisen Slomp – Anita draws on a decade of working as a mediator\, coach\, and instructor. She has been described as insightful\, unassuming\, and skilled.
