It aims to take fear and helplessness out of addressing the conflicts in your life\, at home or at work.  Becoming comfortable with conflict requires an understanding of what it is\, the purpose it serves\, how it expands and contracts\, how people respond\, and learning the skills and steps for resolution.  We will provide a supportive\, inspirational training space for you to learn and practice the foundational skills and models you need to get started.  You will be supported by the ADRLI Course Facilitation Team made up of the instructor and coaches. \nSchedule:\n\nTuesday\, September 15\, 2026 – 3:00 – 6:30 pm MT\nThursday\, September 17\, 2026 – 3:00 – 6:30 pm MT\nSaturday\, September 19\, 2026 – 9:00 am – 4:00 pm MT\n\nPrice:\n$615.00 CAD  + tax*\n*Tax calculation is based on your place of residence. \nPre-requisite  \nNo pre-requisite.  This course can be taken as a stand-alone course or in combination with Communicating through Conflict\, Communicating through Escalated Conflict\, and Confidence in Conflict to earn a Certificate in The Art of Conflict Resolution. \nInstructor \nInstructor: Anita Veldhuisen Slomp – Anita draws on a decade of working as a mediator\, coach\, and instructor. She has been described as insightful\, unassuming\, and skilled. DESCRIPTION:Course InformationPre-RequisitesScheduleRegistration Cut-Off Cancellation PolicyCourse Information \nThis is the first course of five required to meet the mediation course requirements towards earning our Mediation Training Certificate.  This is a 28-hour course with 24 hours spent in class plus an additional 4 hours of asynchronous work. \nThis course will focus on the fundamentals\, including definition\, theory\, mediator role and presence\, introduction to an interest-based mediation model with practice and coaching. \nCourse approved by ADR Institute of Canada as recognized as meeting the training requirements towards the national designations of Qualified Mediator and Chartered Mediator and is recognized within our Certified Mediation Training Program with the International Mediation Institute for registration on their International Mediator Roster.  Click here for more information about national designations.
