DESCRIPTION:Course InformationPre-RequisitesScheduleRegistration Cut-Off Cancellation PolicyCourse Information \nThis is the first course of five required to meet the mediation course requirements towards earning our Mediation Training Certificate.  This is a 34 hour course with an additional 5 hours of asynchronous work required between sessions. \nThis course will focus on the fundamentals\, including definition\, theory\, mediator role and presence\, introduction to an interest-based mediation model with practice and coaching. \nCourse approved by ADR Institute of Canada as recognized as meeting the training requirements towards the national designations of Qualified Mediator and Chartered Mediator and is recognized within our Certified Mediation Training Program with the International Mediation Institute for registration on their International Mediator Roster.  Click here for more information about national designations. She holds certificates in Conflict Leadership\, Attuned Communication in Dispute Resolution\, Integrative Negotiation\, and Facilitative Mediation. Trained mediators\, whose training did not include negotiation\, will benefit from this course\, and are welcome to register without having to register for any of our other courses. \nBeing an effective Mediator requires a deep understanding of Negotiation. This 14 hour course focuses on helping learners in mediation training understand mediation from the perspective of the parties they are mediating. It will focus on effective ways to prepare for a negotiation\, participate in a negotiation to meet the needs of everyone involved\, and writing up an agreement.
