Mediation Foundation

This is the first course of three that will make up the total 7 days of training required to meet the mediation course requirements toward earning our Mediation Certificate. This course will focus on the fundamentals, including: definition, theory, mediator role and presence, introduction to the interest-based mediation model with practise and coaching. Course approved by ADR Institute of Canada as recognized training towards the national designations of Qualified Mediator and Chartered Mediator. Approval to register is required by ADR Learning Institute. The completion of pre-requisites has to be confirmed prior to registration. Email Paula Drouin at admin@adrlearninginstitute.ca for the application form, and to submit your prior course learning documents. This course will be a combination of evenings, weekends, with a couple of weekday sessions required, as well as asynchronous course work. Since participants come from various walks of life and have differing work and family demands, Zoom session times, within the course time frame, will be negotiated between the participants and instructional team. The idea of preventing someone from registering for a course makes us all crazy, so we won’t do that. However, we need to order printing a week before the course and make final decisions about the number of coaches to bring in, and confirm the size of the classroom being rented. Therefore, we hope you will register as soon as possible (knowing we’ll be kind and easy to deal with if you have to cancel) and in exchange we will keep registration open until the day before the course. We will shut off online course registration a week before, however you can just give us a call at 780-460-7599 or send an email to admin@adrlearninginstitute.ca to register. We will confirm your registration and make sure we have all the materials you will need when you arrive on the course date. We know life happens. Sometimes schedules change or the universe interferes with your plans. Please provide us with as much notice as possible so we can provide you with a full refund and hopefully fill your spot. If the universe doesn’t let you know until five or less days before the course, then we will give you a full credit towards another course which you, or someone you choose to transfer it to, can use within a year. If your financial situation is such that you just really need the money to be put back into your account, then give us a call and we will provide a refund less any admin costs incurred through Pay Pal or Invoicing.
