COMMUNICATING THROUGH ESCALATED CONFLICT – Everything you ever wanted to know about managing anger. This course is a one-day journey through the world of emotional outbursts. Explore why humans are wired to avoid or attack and what triggers those responses. Gain insight on what some of your key triggers are and how to manage your own emotional response. Learn how to defuse emotional outbursts in others and ways to set limits on their expression of anger.

Pre-requisite: No pre-requisites however it is strongly recommended that you complete Communicating through Conflict before taking this advance communication course.
Instructor: Jaemi Bertrand – Jaemi coaches and instructs in a variety of settings including the ADR Learning Institute (ADRLi), the University of Alberta School of Business, ADR Institute of Alberta (ADRIA) and NAIT, with a focus on the topics of conflict resolution and working with emotion. Jaemi’s practice includes workplace mediation, Civil mediation with Alberta Justice, as well as community mediation centred on youth.
